In the 1960s, performance art was born. Since then, it has become a popular medium for artists to explore themes of personal identity and social status. Performance art is a term that was created to describe this form of art. Yves Klein (Gina Pane), Roselee Gilberg, and Roselee Greenberg are examples of performers.
Yves Klein
Yves Klein has been an artist who uses body movement as a medium. His work was shown for the first time in 1957 during an international competition held by Gelsenkirchen. He joined the group of artists ZERO, including Otto Piene & Heinz Mack.
Klein designed Raum der Leere, a walk-in immersive installation, in Krefeld, Germany, in 1961. This installation was inspired by Le Vide's performance art in France. It consisted of a room measuring 285 x 442 cm and was lit by neon lamps. The exhibition documents this performance through photographs and drawings.

Yves Klein studied judo in his youth, as well as performing art. To master this art form he went to Japan where he earned a fourth degree black-belt. This training greatly influenced his career and life. He later wrote a book on the art form titled Les Fondements du Judo.
Gina Pane
Gina Pane (French-Italian-born artist) was a French performer and installer. She was one of few female artists to use the human body in the 1970s, and she did so in some of her most bizarre ways. She made sculptures and photographs of her carefully-planned actions. Because it highlighted a woman's vulnerability, her use of the body to create art was particularly sensitive.
Pane used images to create montage scenes in her early work. These scenes were staged to allow the viewer to experience the emotional depth of a performance without actually seeing it. This work is a form performance art and has been remade many times by artists including Marina Abramovic in 2005.
Roselee Goldenberg
RoseLee Goldberg works as an art historian and curator. She is also an author and performer. She is also the founder, and annual performer festival Performa in New York City. She specializes in modern performance art. She was born in Durban, South Africa, and studied fine arts in London. Goldberg previously worked at the Gulbenkian Galerie of the Royal College of Art. She was a champion for artists Jeanne-Claude, Marina Abramovic, and Christo. She has also created and curated performance programmes for museums.

Goldberg is author of LiveArtSince 1960 - a book about performance art history. She was the founder of PERFORMA, a non profit organization dedicated to visual art performance in the 21st century. She has a degree from the Courtauld Institute of Art.

Popular Music Culture is an ever-changing phenomenon that takes many forms.
Music and lyrics are the main characteristics of popular music culture. It also includes the impact of visual media such as television, fashion and advertising on artists' careers, as well as public perception.
It's also all about how fans interact their favorite artists.
One aspect of popular music culture is the rise of "superstars," artists who have achieved fame, fortune, and status for themselves.
These stars often transcend genres, becoming cultural icons and influencing the evolution of popular music.
The popular music culture also includes:
* The rise in recording technology - from acoustic instruments, to electric guitars, and microphones.
* The invention of the record player and the radio;
* The birth of the rock 'n roll era;
* The introduction of television and film

What are some examples pop culture trends for 2020?
The music industry is changing rapidly, and this year we saw artists such as Billie Eilish, Post Malone, and Travis Scott all reach number 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. This was a remarkable achievement for any artist.
This is also true for streaming services. Spotify reported that they streamed over 10 billion hours of audio content last year alone. This is almost five times the amount of content that users were listening too just five years prior!
This has led to a massive shift in how people consume media. People now spend most of their time-consuming content rather than creating it.
Everybody, from babies to old age, can now listen to high-quality audio content. This means that anyone can record, edit, mix, and release their music.
You don't have to go to school to learn classical instrumentation in order to play your favorite songs. Download an app, add your voice, then upload them to YouTube.
And if you don't want to make music yourself, why not watch someone else doing it instead? You will find many channels dedicated to creating videos of songs from covers to parodies.
Why pop music is popular?

You might even find yourself singing along. Pop music has been so popular over the years because of this.
How did pop culture develop?
Technology was the driver behind the growth of popular culture. As people became more mobile, it developed. Mass communication was made possible by the invention of radio. This enabled the invention of the radio, which led to the development of television. The internet was born from this.
Computers were first used at home by people who became familiar with computer games. These games were played on consoles, such as the Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation3. These games can be downloaded online for free. Many people choose to play videogames instead of watching television.
Video games are very popular with children and teenagers. You can play alone or with other people via the internet. Games like Call Of Duty and Grand Theft Auto are extremely violent. These games can cause serious harm to children, so parents should be concerned about their children. Some people find it thrilling to see what happens when a character is killed.
Music videos are another way youth can be influenced by pop culture. They give information about current trends and celebrities. Many young people love to watch them. Music is an integral part of our lives.
Many artists use special effects in music videos to enhance their songs. To make their appearance more attractive, rappers may wear makeup or wigs. Some musicians have to go through extreme physical and mental challenges in order show their bodies. Many singers sing wearing costumes.
Today there is so much music to choose from. You can listen whatever music you want. It's not always good news. Music can sometimes encourage violence. Some lyrics or words can cause people to get mad. Sometimes they even commit crimes.
50 Cent is a recent example of this. The line from his song Get Rich Or Die Trying is "I'm going down a motherfucker / I don’t know why, but I might." Someone heard this song and thought it meant that he was going to kill someone. A man threatened him by calling him. 50 Cent then changed the lyrics. It now reads: "I'll shoot an inchch down/ I'm not sure why, but I may."
Popular culture is essential. We must understand its effects on us. If we don't, we won't be able to protect ourselves against its adverse effects.
